From the time I first started collecting thimbles, I saved small scraps of gold, broken earrings, a charm, an old ring, even a gold dental bridge I had replaced, with the idea of having a gold thimble made. My wonderful husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in November 1996. After conferring with him, I took my little bag of scrap gold to the Minnesota TCI Convention in August of that year and while there, Tommie Jane Lane made an impression of my wedding ring to use as the pattern for the band of my Anniversary Thimble. I furnished the gold and the diamonds, and she finished in time for our anniversary. I guess this would be my "most precious" thimble.
