~ HAPPY THIMBLING! ~

THE STORY OF THE BLUE M&M

Once upon a time there were four thimble friends who lived in different countries and frequently traded thimbles.  A perfect shipping container for shipping thimbles is an empty Mini M&M candy tube-container.  Once, shortly after the turn of the century, the collector in South Africa inadvertently left a tiny blue M&M inside a thimble package she shipped to the USA, which fell out when it was opened.  Thereafter, and many jokes later, it became a tradition among the four to include a tiny blue M&M candy inside all thimble packages to signify their friendship.

FIRST MONDAY TRADES DAYS - CANTON, TEXAS
I'm happy to report that I live only 17 miles from Canton, Texas, home of "First Monday," the largest outdoor, year-round fleamarket in the world. Since its start in the 1850's, it has grown to over 150 acres of wonderful treasures with 3,000 to 7,000 dealers and 100,000 to 300,000 visitors on a trade weekend, depending upon the season and weather. I go EVERY month, rain or shine or snow, year round. For a collector, or just a general lover of junk, its heaven. For more information on First Monday click on these links.
